Case 500-06-001298-245 is a class action filed on behalf of persons who suffered inhumane conditions in detention facilities operated by Québec's Ministry of Public Security from 2020 to the present.
Overcrowding, poor hygiene, inadequate food, insufficient medical care, violence, abusive isolation, vermin, prolonged lockdowns, and other documented violations of human dignity.
Case under active judicial case management before the Superior Court of Quebec. Designated representative plaintiff Danny William Perez actively protects the integrity of the class action for all group members. An application for case management and appointment of independent class counsel / amicus curiae was filed on October 27, 2026 (hearing scheduled for November 2, 2026 before the Honourable Justice Lukasz Granosik, J.S.C.).
